Hello, I am Saeed Younis!
As the Partnerships Director and Lead Coach at Power For Women, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to our team.
I am a lifelong martial artist and have had the privilege of training at some of the worldā€™s most renowned clubs under various world-class coaches. These include Olympic judo silver medalist Ray Stevens, the greatest jiu-jitsu competitor of all time Roger Gracie, and self-defence legend Dave Turton. My extensive training has equipped me with advanced techniques and a deep understanding of martial arts, which I am passionate about sharing with others.
I have had the pleasure of working at the BBC HQ as an Archivist Editor. During my time there, I also helped run the BBC Film Club, organising and promoting social events including film nights and salsa classes for BBC staff. This experience highlights my capability in organising and running events, a crucial skill for delivering our classes and workshops effectively. Working for such a prestigious organisation as the BBC also underscores my reliability and professionalism.
Prior to my time at the BBC, I served as a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) with the Metropolitan Police, covering the challenging areas of Hammersmith & Fulham, and Shepherdā€™s Bush. This role gave me firsthand experience in managing aggressive behaviour and conflict, skills that are invaluable in my self-defence coaching.
At Power For Women, I am dedicated to spreading the importance of effective self-defence techniques for women. Our groundbreaking concepts are both powerful and accessible, and I know we can impress you by how effective these skills are, so I invite you to join us on this transformative journey!
On a personal note, I am a devoted family man with two wonderful children. My energetic son loves engineering Lego vehicles, elevators, cranes, and airport luggage carousels, while my baby girl, who is one year old, is the boss of the house and a future leader to look out for already!
